Strategic Planning Meeting (Council and Planning Commission) 8-29-17

- The council, staff and planning commission discussed ongoing development efforts in and around the 550 W RDA area (surrounding “Best Burger” area).
- The group discussed a potential public/private development involving the open space land south of the civic center and east of the river. There is interest from a youth soccer organization to create a multi-field facility.
- The city administrator discussed some state law changes that would require the city to adjust some ordinances to comply with the new laws.
- The group had a discussion on the engineering and planning of rebuilding Ritter Drive and logistics of working with the current homeowners and land developers.
City Council 8-15-17
- The council heard a report from the Communities that Care about a recent group trip to Snow College for several of the participating students.
- The council set a public hearing for 9-5-17 concerning a property exchange with the developers of the Coleman properties on Ritter Dr.

- The council held a public hearing for, and then approved a resolution amending the FY18 city budget for some Fire Dept. (broken truck) and Public Works Dept. (heavy equipment) issues.
- The council approved the purchase of a backhoe for the Public Works Dept.
LOOKING AHEAD:
There will be City Council meetings on 9-5-17 and 9-19-17. The RDA Board will meet on 9-19-17. There is a Strategic Planning Meeting (Council and Planning Comm.) on 8-29-17 at 6:00 pm at the Community Center.
